Who are we?

I was browsing through a website where people ask each other random questions, when I stumbled upon an automated question directed towards me. The question was, “Who are you?” It was a simple question that left me bewildered, dazed and confused.
The day you were born, you were stamped with an identity having many different aspects. Your identity consists of your name, you caste, the place to which you belong. It includes your parents, your ancestors, where you live, and a host of other things; yet nothing that reveals who you really are. The most difficult task therefore, is to describe yourself as you really are. Sit back and think for a moment. Lift yourself from your worldly commitments and take a step back to describe yourself. Who are you? What is the purpose of your existence? What have you been doing for all these years and what do you plan on doing the next moment? Have you ever introspected deep enough to discover the truth that lies hidden within you? Have you ever tried to understand what makes you genuinely happy? And what is it that is the cause of your sadness? What do you love about the world and what is the one thing you would change?
The truth is that we are all so engrossed in our daily routines, so caught up in the rush of the world around us that we fail to comprehend the real purpose of our life. So ensnared are we in the tangle of our busy lives that somewhere in the process, we forget who we really are.
It is absolutely essential to understand the inner self and the purpose of this existence. Because without this comprehension we keep on pursuing our insatiable desires, desires that see no end. We are caught in a vicious circle that takes us further away from the truth about our own selves. It is only when we understand ourselves that we can find a direction in life; and it is the discovery of this purpose that imparts true happiness.
You were born for a purpose. You have to carve your own destiny by being the best that you can be in every aspect of life. Misunderstanding yourself robs you of the true happiness that comes from self-discovery.
You are who you want to be. You are an individual; a unique individual. Live for others, but not according to others. Find your own happiness, that which truly satisfies your instincts. In the twilight of life when you remember all the phases of your life and your accomplishments; it is the fact that you were able to discover and unleash yourself that will make you truly happy knowing that you’ve lived up to your potential. And that joy is absolutely priceless.

Passion? Profession? Money?

"To be successful, the first thing you got to do is fall in love with your work."
- Sister Mary Laurette
"If you can dream it, you can do it. "
- Walt Disney
"It is your attitude, not your aptitude, that determines your altitude."
- Zig Ziglar
These quotations would probably not even have been in existence, had these great epitomes of wisdom not chosen the paths directed by their hearts. Passion is something which can be defined as the ardent desire of the heart to do something. It is a feeling that fills a person with unbounded esctacy. . If such a feeling could be merged with one's profession, then, needless to say, the horizons he can touch, are probably beyond the levels of comprehension. Until and unless your work is your passion, you don't enjoy the pleasure of the job. Because to be in a world that is constantly trying to make something else out of you, is the greatest accomplishment.
Education is merely not confined to the walls of the classroom and the pages of books. Education offers a wider perspective. Something which sets you free from the darkness of ignorance, is education. Something which makes you realise your love for work, is education.
"Work is Worship.". A quote that probably all of us have been hearing since our childhood days in morning assemblies. How many of us have been able to imprint it's true essence in our actual lives? Only the ones who have actually been able to realise their dreams.. Work can be worship, only and only if, what you envisage, is exactly what you persue. Agreed, monetary aspects are very essential in one's life. And often the case is seen, when your passion does not provide you effective returns. People tend to sideline their love, their passion for the sake of a better future, or more aptly phrased - financial future. But in this case, a better financial future often devoids one of the mental pleasure, that you probably have got to experience, had you chosen the-much-controversial-but-better path - directed by your instinct.
In the long run, one false decision, can ruin your life. A pile of frustration bears the power of nullifying all the short term happiness that one may have derived from a financially promising job. It is not essential that an academically weak student cannot make a mark anywhere in life. You need not be a topper to be a millionaire. You just need to love what you do !
If your passion becomes your job, not only do you enjoy it, but also keep getting better, day by day. All the Master, PHDs and other great scholars in their respective fields are so, not because of their percentages, but because of their constant developing flair. When your prowess gets the right direction, you constantly polish your talent because you are passionate about it. As a consequence of which, you make the best and the most of yourself.
Now what can get better than this ?
So , in the battle between mind and instinct, the instinct should always triumph. Eventually, the desire of the heart and instinct, merged with the wisdom of the mind, will lead you to that horizon of success, from where there is no looking back !

Love; A feeling, a complexity

LOVE. As expectation would follow, we all will have a different perspective to this word. Some people define it as the emotional connect between a girl and a boy. Agreed. Others define it as the bind between parents and their child. Well said. Some even define it as the passion associated with your profession. Right enough. But actually, the word cannot be defined at all! This word has a wide horizon, covering almost all the arenas of one's life. It would be sheer stupidity if we try to curb its reach by defining it by mere words. Love is not defined. It is just felt! Felt in such a way that nothing else can give you happiness beyond that range!
Love is anything that gives you happiness. Anything that gives you satisfaction. If you claim to be in love with something that doesn't give you happiness, then you actually are not attached to it!
You need to forget that aspect of life and find something better that will transfer you to a world of glory!
Love is not restricted to the "I love you, marry me" world. It is much much wider and beautiful than it seems !
Love is, when your best friend gives you a hug! Love is when your mom tells you to be safe while travelling! Love is, when you passion becomes your profession, or vice verse! Love is when you watch the flowers bloom! Love is when you feel the cool breeze against your skin! Love is the music that you love! Love is your favorite quote! Love is seeing a happy elderly couple walking hand in hand!
In short, love is anything that makes you smile. Ever wondered why people say, "I love you. I cant live without you." The person is actually trying to convey that you make him/ her smile! You are his happiness!
It is said, that be with people who bring out the best in you, not the stress in you! Truly enough. If a person cannot make you happy, if you cannot laugh at or with him, you can actually never fall in love with him!
Again, people feel that distance hinders love. No. It doesn't. It actually makes the bind stronger. If you really love someone or something, then distance and time, are merely digits!
I will share my personal experience with you.
I met my best friend 14 years ago, when we both attended the same play school. We became best friends in the third grade. Now, as destiny had planned it, or whatever, she flew to the USA in the 6th grade and we were separated.
It is 14 years to that thing now, and we both are 18.
And still BEST FRIENDS!
Yes. The bond didn't weaken, but instead grew stronger with the increased time and distance. Even today, I can claim that no one knows us better than each other.
So, I personally feel that love is.. Divinity! Love is passion! Love is the most powerful force on this earth that can move mountains! Its power is unmatched!
Love is needed. Love is felt. Love is anything and everything that makes you feel like the happiest person on this Earth!
Spread love, feel love! :)

Dream big ! :)

Life is a journey. Life is purpose. We all are here for a reason. And the reason is something we fathom due to our dreams.  Dreams.  A very simple word to describe, yet extremely difficult to interpret. In a lay man’s language, a dream is a series of random or meaningful images that a person experiences in his slumber. They are the emotions trapped in the sub conscious part of a person’s mind. But  if we go on to delve deeper into the meaning of our “dreams” we would always fall short of words to define it comprehensively.
Accurately stated, dreams are not those which we see while sleeping. Dreams are those which do NOT  let us sleep altogether ! Dreams are what we aspire for with open eyes. Dreams are what we long for to achieve in a span of lifetime. Dreams are those, which, if achieved, will not leave us with any regret in life.  A life without a dream is like a dish without salt. Tasteless.
A simple way of defining the journey of dreams is – Dream-Believe-Manifest. Yes.  Dream about something or someone with all your heart and mind put into it, and nothing can stop you from having it! This is the first step towards your achievement. The next step is to believe that you already have what you desire . The strong feeling of belonging towards your aspiration will undoubtedly attract it towards you. And finally, what you dream, is what you see ! You can do, have, or be, anything you want to !
Anything desired with strong passion and ardent emotions of belonging, is something you will already experience in your life. Until and unless you have a dream, your life cannot have a motive. A motive arises from a dream. Just like the need for water arises due to a parched throat. If you do not dream, you won’t achieve. It will not make you a difference whether you have that thing or not. You will not be able to distinguish between the emotions of pleasure and sadness. A person without a dream or an ambition will obviously be indifferent to the fact whether anything is being attracted towards him or not. He will be contended. Contentment is something we should all find within ourselves. But contentment without an aim makes a man useless. Dreams are those stimulators, which stimulate a man to ready action. They make a person do anything to achieve his aim. And the consequence of this achievement is a level of happiness that is beyond the measures of comprehension. The dreams are the the  colors of life which make your life beautiful to an immeasurable extent.
Dreaming is not only a passion, it is also a need. A need that is required for the very existence of a person in the world. A mind sans a dream is a body without a soul, music without rhythm and heart without compassion. Dry and parched.

Therefore, a person should dream. Not only for an aim of life, but to serve him with a piece of cake . When you dream, you believe. And when you believe you have already got what you desire. And the achievement of this very desire, drives you into the arena of unbounded ecstasy and pleasure. The dreams set you  free. The dreams are a beginning to a journey from where there is no looking back !

First day of college ! :)

A distant memory of me being a 4 year old kid, walking to the school the very first day, sitting in my allotted class like I own it, still prevails in some corner of my mind, and gets vivid when my mom narrates the tales to me. The very first day of the school evokes the memories of all those fears, anxieties, and excitement that came along the fact that I was now going to be a school kid.
Gradually, 13 years passed, and the school became a second home. Years after making soul mate friends, parental teachers there came a point when we were termed as the seniors of the school and finally were supposed to “pass out” from the second home. Another rush of feelings, sadness, nostalgia, and the grave emotion of parting with the best buddies and the best teachers in the world engulfed the heart and soul into its own world. But more so, there was something else…
There was an ecstatic feeling of venturing into a new phase of life, meeting new people, heading towards the career of your life, working towards building a future… There was more looking forward to a brilliant college life! After 2 years of racking our brains into the CBSE Board material, and clearing the “examination-of-the-nation” with flying colors, we were all dreaming of a bright future into the topmost colleges of the country!
Yes, the cut offs were out, and we all were gazing into the computer screens with the most inquisitive eyes ever! And then after glorious moments of getting the college, we were into the offices getting the registration done! Then came the most awaited day, ever! The Orientation Day.
My friend and me. We didn't know where to go. Whom to consult. All we knew was that a bunch of seniors were directing us all to the hall. Okay, so there we were! In about 5 minutes or so, we found ourselves perched on the balcony seats of a big auditorium, dimly lit, teachers conducting the inauguration ceremony, delivering encouraging speeches, the most gorgeous seniors performing the even more gorgeous dances, and all of them attempting to make us feel the most special freshers ever! It was more than we expected. After allotting us our respective sections, the seniors-in-charge of each section took us out in the campus, familiarizing us with every nook and corner of the place where we were now supposed to spend our next 4 years! There were jokes, there were some senior-special advises, but more than anything else, there was this special realization, that were now a part of one of the most reputed institutions in the country, Jesus and Mary College! There wasn't any special ragging as we’d expected, but yes, there was a special dress code that we were supposed to follow on the very first working day of the college. Okay, so we were really looking forward to it! There was immense excitement as to look like the future princesses of the college ! Hahaa!
But as the people told us, they were our seniors, of course not in a mood to spare us! And there we were standing envisaging ourselves in a deadly combination of Indian Kurti, Night Suit Pajamas, Chappals, and two ponytails of oil-clad hair!
There were sighs, pleadings and of course curses by the first years, but more than anything, there was a distinct element of fun in it!
Ironically enough, I was looking forward to my first day of college. I was looking forward to the first day of college, a step towards my future into making.

Then came 24 July, 2013. This was the day we were expected to attend our foremost lectures, introduce ourselves to the teachers and a class of 60 students, whom we were to spend our next 4 years with. The whole campus was thronged with students. Freshers or seniors? We couldn't distinguish! All I knew was that I had my first class at 8:30 am and it was already 8:20, and till then I didn't have a bit of idea which class to head towards. And of course, the expected and the obvious happened! After 20 minutes of roaming around here and there, I found a senior who directed me to my room 101, yeah, 20 minutes late! But the teacher was kind enough to let me in, as it was our first day. The whole day passed away in a similar manner, and I had this very opportunity of being elected as the Class Representative! Now that was something very honorable, a moment of immense pride, to win the hearts of 59 strangers, who ultimately accepted me as their leader! That was a sign of a bright future ahead. A glorious moment that the next 4 years would bring out the best in me and ultimately help me emerge as a better human being!
P.S : I didn't follow the dress code :D
